Our Lost Children
From the moment they were born we desire the best for our children in every way. When they are hurt we experience the pain and when they do not succeed we feel their disappointment. We would rather suffer than allowing them to come to any harm.
However, at some point over the last few decades our children have slipped away from us and we have lost them to a world of self destructive habits and recurring failures. Lack of education, gang violence, drugs, antisocial behaviour and unemployment are but a few of the diseases the younger generation have fallen victim to.
They have become increasingly distant from their roots and subsequently from the families and communities which nurtured them through their youth.
It is easy to place the blame solely on them, but in fact their failures in adulthood only serve to represent our failures to support and nurture them properly through their childhood.
These young people are not only our future generation but also our lasting legacy upon this earth. If we fail to take action to regain our lost future generation they will remain astray indefinitely.
Save A Generation
At UIC we recognise the tremendous importance of our youth and the unique potential in each individual we meet regardless of their current circumstances. We do not judge or discriminate but seek to address the problems which face our young people at their roots.
Through a comprehensive program of unique, profound and dynamic projects we aim to support the future generation in remoulding their current lifestyle of self destruction with a more meaningful, guided and enriched existence.
We have developed several teams for the ‘Save A Generation’ project, that will tour the country and actively engage with young people.
They will visit schools, colleges, university campuses, community centres and Masjids in a structured nationwide program. These teams are comprised of handpicked individuals who have undergone specialist training on how best to interact and communicate with young people in a refreshing, fruitful and beneficial way. The teams are flexible and dynamic in their approach to each person, often tailoring their methods to suit the unique needs and backgrounds of each individual participant.
A number of unique methodologies can be used such as one to one social dispute resolution, group orientated self improvement, self reflection study groups and activity motivated personal advancement projects.
Participants who complete these programs are then invited to continue their journeys of personal progression by entering into neighbourhood enrichment schemes. These neighbourhood enrichment initiatives allow young people to become active members of their local communities. Through these initiatives individuals use their unique set of skills and talents to enrich and support the communities they are part of.
The combination of all these efforts result in young adults who are in themselves inspirational to all they encounter, using their time and effort to relentlessly serve the needs of all humanity.
Instead of becoming outcasts from their community and society as a whole, they have instead become community leaders offering an alternative more meaningful way of life.
